What is BH Series Registration?

The Bharat Series (BH) is a pan-India vehicle registration format introduced in 2021. It is available to government employees and eligible private sector workers who move between states. The format is YY BH #### XX where YY is the year and XX is the series code. BH series vehicles do not need re-registration when moving to another state.

Tip

If you see a registration number like MH12AB1234, "MH" means Maharashtra and "12" is the Pune RTO code. Use our table above to decode any Indian vehicle number.
