Use the official government portal for real vehicle verification
Important: This page is a step-by-step informational guide only. VehicleRegDetail.com does not operate a vehicle search or lookup database, and we do not collect, store or disclose owner names, phone numbers, addresses or any personal vehicle data. For real verification, RC download, challan payment or licence status checks, please visit the official Parivahan / VAHAN government portal directly.
Vehicle registration records in India are maintained by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) through the VAHAN National Register. The register is an official system, but it does not publish every personal detail. This page explains what the official portals show, what they hide, and where the limits are.
Official portals typically display the registered owner name, registration number, registration date, vehicle make and model, fuel type, RTO, registration validity, insurance and PUC status, and hypothecation details. Some fields are partially masked, and full addresses or contact details are not published.
Vehicle records contain personal information, so access is restricted under Indian privacy law and portal policy. The official system is designed for verification, not for exposing a complete owner profile. A website that promises full owner details should be treated with caution.
The official VAHAN portal, the mParivahan app and the VAHAN SMS service are the supported channels. Our step-by-step method comparison explains how each one works and what it returns. If you are buying a used car, the seller verification checklist covers the documents and red flags.
