An RC application moves through several official stages before the registration certificate reaches the owner. This page focuses on tracking those stages and understanding the status labels. What Do the Stages Mean?

  • Active: the registration is valid and the RC is current.
  • Generated: the RC has been produced by the system and is being prepared for dispatch.
  • Dispatched: the RC has left the issuing office for delivery.
  • Rejected: the application needs correction or has not met the requirements.

How to Track Your RC on the VAHAN Portal

  1. Open the official VAHAN or Parivahan service for RC application status.
  2. Enter the application number or registration number, as requested.
  3. Complete the captcha or verification step.
  4. Read the current stage and any office remarks shown on the page.

Track Using the mParivahan App

The official mParivahan app provides a mobile route to the same registration record. Sign in, open the vehicle or RC section, and follow the status flow. Keep the application number handy if the record is still being processed.

After Renewal, Duplicate or Transfer

If you applied for renewal, a duplicate RC or a transfer, the application may appear as a separate case rather than updating the old record immediately. Check the relevant service and keep the acknowledgement number.

If the Status Looks Wrong
